Was there water on the moon? We're willing to spends millions and millions of dollars in a bad economy to find out.
I'm a big fan of the Space Program, but when you see a headline that reads "NASA to crash $79 million craft into moon" it starts to make sense as to why NASA gets their funding cut.
Dear NASA, you lose.
All your space program are belong to Average Cats

But, thanks to NASA, I now have a new metaphor for everything that I want to quit in life. Everything that doesn't go right, that I can't figure out. Every problem I can't solve and every pending disaster I cannot prevent.
Can't lose weight? Oh well, just crash into the moon.
Can't remember what I need at the grocery store? Eh, just crash into the moon.
"Wait, what happened, Lesley? You were supposed to have that report to us by this afternoon." And I'll say "well, you see, it was all going okay until I forgot to spell check. By then, I'd already printed it, it was too late to change anything, so instead I just CRASHED INTO THE MOON."
Okay, I'm finished now.
Hmm...you do have a point. This is too much of a joke to waste that kind of money on.
But honestly, I'm surprised it's not costing more than $79 million. That's cheap for NASA.
I mean, you sit down and ask NASA to find out if there's water on the moon. They say $79 million.
Then you go to James Cameron and ask him to make a movie about NASA finding water on the moon. You know what he'll say: "I'm going to need at least $200 million at least..."
And that's just to fake it.
JR - Did you just crash into the moon? I am not paying 79 million for that . . .
James - Well, the analogy isn't exactly correct as 79 million is only the price of the hardware to be crashed. What do you think the total cost will be when all is said and done? My guess is 80 bajillion dollars and we won't even get a crappy movie starring Winona Ryder and Tom hanks.
Crashing into the moon aside (both as a reality and an analogy), I love Average Cats!
Barb - Average Cats don't really want to know if the moon has surrendered yet. Cats don't care about the wars of humans, unless it affects their dinner plans.
